Description

A Lowestoft porcelain cream jugDescription. A flower moulded sauceboat with inverted rim. The piece is transfer printed, placing the manufacturing date towards the end of the 1760's. Until that point all Lowestoft pieces were painted in underglaze blue. The company, so far as is known, never made polychrome sauceboats. Nicholas Panes illustrates a very similar piece as figure 297 of "British Porcelain Sauceboats of the 18th Century". Condition. In very good antique condition. Two
