2 Antique Victorian Trade Card for J&P Coats Thread - Lady & Gent FishingC. 1880 or so, here's a pair of Victorian era trade cards one blank with a cropped top edge; the other, full sides, for J&P Coats Threads sold at the Charles F. Sprague Dry Goods emporium. The image to both cards is the same, that of a lady sitting on a blanket with a sewing basket beside her (filled with thread, of course) and her gentleman friend just landing a trout in the stream. An 1880 calendar is on the backs of each. Both cards are very nice

She gently layers the inside in layers of doily

Set in the yellow gold are natural pearls of various tones while the leaves are enameled greenish yellow

the top of the lid bears an Antique Victorian die cut that reads WITH MY LOVE

With a center floral of beige and rose ombre ribbon (center set with glass beads)

Blue pants and a silver foil coat

The design to this piece is quite ornate - a center heart is surrounded by decorative borders including latticework

Size is 4-1/8" x 2-1/2" approx

this is a piece to be displayed with pride in the house
